Create and Manage Member Tags
Use custom member tags to label and organize your members by skill level, program, or any category you need. You can create tags in your location settings, assign them to members, and filter your member list by tag.
Create a tag
Open the tag management page for your location and add a new tag from the empty state or the tag list.
- Go to Settings > Tags inside your location dashboard.
- If you have no tags yet, click the prompt to create your first tag. If you already have tags, click the option to create a new tag.
- In the Create New Tag dialog, enter a name in the Tag name field.
- Click Create Tag.
If a tag with that name already exists, you will see the error A tag with this name already exists. Choose a different name and try again.
[!INFO]
Tags are scoped to the location. You can use the same tag name in a different location, but names must be unique within a single location.
Assign a tag to a member
Add tags to a member record from the member detail page.
- Open the member’s profile page.
- Find the Member Tags section.
- If no tags are assigned yet, the section shows No tags found and an option to add a tag.
- Click the tag selector. If the tag already exists, choose it from the list. If it does not exist yet, type the name and create it.
- The tag is added immediately to the member.
To remove a tag from a member, click the X next to the tag name in the Member Tags section.
Filter members by tags
Use the tags filter on the members list to find everyone who shares a tag.
- Go to your location’s Members list.
- Open the TagsFilter control.
- Type in the Search tag... field and select the tag you want to filter by.
- The list refreshes to show only members who have that tag.
Rename or delete a tag
Update a tag name or remove it entirely from the tag settings page.
[!WARNING]
Deleting a tag removes it from every member that has it. This cannot be undone.
Tag permissions
If you see the error You don't have permission to create tags, your staff role does not include tag management. Ask an account owner or admin to create the tag for you, or to update your staff permissions.
